The Nike Presto has made a triumphant return in recent years and this trend is confirmed with the return of an emblematic color, twenty years after its launch: it is the Nike Presto Australia Olympics. Launched in 2000 to celebrate the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, the silhouette was a Friends & Family version distributed to athletes only.
This edition incorporates the DNA of the OG model with all its features as imagined by its designer Tobbie Hatfield, Tinker Hatfield’s younger brother. The upper is adorned with a turquoise blue hue sublimated by the addition of yellow stars on the toebox reminiscent of those of the flag of the island state. The big star, the Commonwealth Star, represents the 7 states and territories of the country while the other stars refer to the constellation of the Southern Cross observed in this southern hemisphere. The inscription “AUS” on the tongue recalls the main theme. The yellow shade is duplicated on the lateral Swoosh and for the front part of the outsole. The midsole is white while the cage is semi-transparent while the piece on the toebox is completely transparent. The Nike Presto Australia Olympics 2020 should release on July, 24 2020 at a retail price of about 150€.
